A holiday to share, whether you both play golf or just one of you does.
Great riding, distinctive hotels and carefully chosen dining for riders and pillions alike. We seek stays with character, comfort and surroundings worth enjoying, with regional food and special dinners woven into the journey. Golfers can join the rounds from either seat on the motorcycle, with choices for non-playing guests being planned alongside the golf.

Pillions share the rider’s room and motorcycle. Their fare excludes motorcycle hire and is the same with a hired or own motorcycle.
The hire-bike price covers the motorcycle-hire charge, paid by Boss Hogg once the provider confirms the arrangement. You sign the provider’s rental agreement and must meet its rider requirements. A separate security deposit or card pre-authorisation may apply. We’ll confirm its amount and refund or release conditions, any excess and other provider charges before you book. Fuel is extra. The hire-bike rider price includes motorcycle hire, subject to provider availability and eligibility. Final tour inclusions will be confirmed before a real booking.
We’re exploring an alternative for August 2027, pairing great motorcycle touring with a different selection of golf courses and memorable places to stay.
The route, dates, courses and price are still to be confirmed. Register your interest and we’ll share the details as the plans develop. The championship itinerary below is our proposed 2028 flagship.
Great roads. Great golf. A holiday to share.
You don’t both have to play golf to enjoy the Fairways Grand Tour together.
Riders and pillions who play are equally welcome to join the rounds. You might both be golfers, or one of you might prefer to spend those hours differently.
On the headline golf days, we’re exploring choices for non-playing guests: accompanying your partner around the course where the club permits, enjoying a spa treatment, exploring locally or taking a leisurely day at the hotel.
We’ll confirm the available options, arrangements and any additional costs before you book. Then everyone comes together again for dinner, good company and the next part of the journey.
Women riders, pillions, couples and solo travellers are all warmly welcomed. When you enquire, tell us who is travelling, who will ride or travel pillion, and who would like to play golf. Your quotation will set out each guest’s riding, accommodation and golf choices, plus any separately priced activities.
The planned 2028 journey
Manchester → Lytham → Lake District → Ayrshire → Trossachs → St Andrews → Scottish Borders → Cumbria → Manchester
Our proposed flagship departure is 16–27 August 2028, subject to confirmation of golf arrangements. The rider and pillion options are shown above; the hire-bike rider price includes motorcycle hire, subject to provider availability and eligibility. Final tour inclusions will be confirmed before a real booking. All named courses, tee times, professional tuition, caddies and hotels remain subject to confirmation. The Old Course is our preferred St Andrews round; access is not guaranteed.
Five rounds with room to enjoy the riding between them. Our opening session with the professional is about confidence and finding your swing. The headline golf days have no touring ride scheduled, while the riding days make time for good lunches, characterful hotels and evenings around the table.

The Journey
DAY 1 — ARRIVE AND EXHALE
MANCHESTER TO OUR LYTHAM BASE
Your journey begins at Manchester Airport, where our planned transfer brings you and your luggage to our opening hotel around Lytham. Those riding their own motorcycles join us at the hotel.
Today is simply about arriving. No golf to hurry towards, no riding after an overnight flight and no formal programme. Settle into your room, take a walk if you feel like it and have something to eat when you are ready.
Tomorrow we begin together. Tonight, a comfortable bed and a good night's sleep are enough.
Ride
Airport transfer or independent arrival at the hotel
Experience
A relaxed arrival • Time to settle in
Overnight
Lytham area — first of three nights
DAY 2 — FIND YOUR SWING
LYTHAM GREEN DRIVE — OUR PROPOSED WARM-UP
Before the championship courses, we give our golfers time to find their swing. Our proposed opening venue is Lytham Green Drive Golf Club, with a relaxed group session with the club professional followed by 18 holes.
A few useful pointers, time on the short game and putting, then a round without pressure. This is about confidence and getting to know the people you will be sharing the journey with.
We will arrange motorcycle handover and familiarisation around the opening days, once everyone is rested. Tonight we return to the same hotel for dinner together. Tomorrow is Royal Lytham.
For guests not playing today
While the golfers find their swing, we’re planning time for non-playing guests to settle into the holiday: explore locally, enjoy a leisurely morning at the hotel or accompany the round if the club permits. We’ll agree the options and any transport before you book, then bring everyone together for dinner.
Ride
Local transfers • Motorcycle familiarisation by arrangement
Experience

Overnight
Lytham area — second night
DAY 3 — ROYAL LYTHAM
A BIG ROUND. A PROPER EVENING.
This is the first of our proposed headline rounds: Royal Lytham & St Annes. We plan a personal caddie for every golfer, giving you individual support and local knowledge throughout the round.
For our golfers, the day belongs to the course. There is no hotel move and no afternoon riding deadline waiting beyond the eighteenth green. Take your time, enjoy the occasion and let the course provide the stories.
Then we change for an evening worthy of it. A standout dinner, good company and plenty of time around the table. This is the standard we want to carry through the whole journey.
For guests not playing today
With no hotel move today, there is time to make the day your own. We’re exploring a spa treatment at our chosen hotel or nearby, time to explore Lytham, or accompanying your partner around the course where permitted. Options, transport and any additional costs will be confirmed before booking. Tonight’s special dinner is for everyone.

DAY 4 — INTO THE LAKES
THE MOTORCYCLES TAKE THEIR TURN
The golf clubs travel with the support vehicle as we turn north towards the Lake District. Today is for the Harleys: a considered route, time beside the water and a lunch stop worth getting off the bikes for.
We are looking for flowing, surfaced roads that suit touring motorcycles, with space to enjoy the scenery. The final roadbook will favour a comfortable rhythm over trying to squeeze in every pass.
Our hotel is part of the day, too. Arrive with time to settle in, enjoy the surroundings and look forward to dinner. We are staying in the Lakes, not simply passing through them.

DAY 5 — NORTH TO AYRSHIRE
CUMBRIA TO SCOTLAND
After breakfast we continue north, leaving the Lakes for the roads through southern Scotland towards Ayrshire. This is a full travelling day, with the road itself given the attention it deserves.
We will choose the final route around good riding, sensible stops and a proper lunch, reaching our Troon-area base with time to rest before tomorrow's round.
The bags and clubs come off the support vehicle, the motorcycles are parked and we settle in for two nights. Dinner, a comfortable room and no need to pack again in the morning.

Overnight

DAY 6 — ROYAL TROON
A DAY ON THE OLD COURSE
Our second proposed championship round brings us to the Old Course at Royal Troon. Again, the plan is a personal caddie for each golfer, with caddie fees and an agreed gratuity allowance built into the final package.
We give the course a day of its own. Time to prepare, time to play and time afterwards to enjoy what we have come here to experience.
Tonight everyone comes together at our Ayrshire hotel for a relaxed meal and a chance to share the day’s stories, with the next two days reserved for riding through Scotland.
For guests not playing today
A full day at our Ayrshire base gives us room to plan something enjoyable alongside the golf. Possibilities include a spa treatment at the hotel or nearby, exploring the coast or accompanying the round with the club’s agreement. We’ll confirm the choices, any transport and costs before booking, with everyone together again for the evening.

DAY 7 — LOCHS, ROADS AND A GREAT DINNER
AYRSHIRE TO THE TROSSACHS
Today we ride. Leaving Ayrshire, our proposed route works north towards Loch Lomond and into the Trossachs, with our next overnight around Callander.
There is room for a proper lunch and the stops that make a motorcycle journey feel personal. We will choose the detailed roads to balance the scenery with comfortable progress through the busier stretches.
By afternoon, we arrive somewhere worth staying. This is one of the evenings we want to make particularly memorable: excellent food, a good table and no reason to watch the clock. The golf can wait. Scotland has our attention.

DAY 8 — THE ROAD TO ST ANDREWS
THROUGH PERTHSHIRE TO FIFE
A second full riding day takes us through Perthshire towards St Andrews. Our proposed route explores the country around Aberfeldy and Pitlochry before turning towards Fife.
This is a day to enjoy being on the motorcycles: a good run between stops, lunch somewhere with character and a changing landscape as we work our way east.
By evening, we arrive in St Andrews and settle into our next two-night base. There is time for a wander and dinner together before tomorrow's golf. Getting here should feel every bit as worthwhile as the round ahead.
Ride

Experience
Perthshire riding • Good lunch stops • Arrival at the home of golf
Overnight

DAY 9 — ST ANDREWS
OUR PROPOSED OLD COURSE DAY
The Old Course is our preferred round for the St Andrews day. We will only confirm it as part of the tour once access has been secured; a ballot entry alone will not be presented as a guaranteed tee time.
Our intention is to give each golfer a personal caddie and the whole day to enjoy the occasion. If the Old Course cannot be secured, the proposed St Andrews course will be agreed and clearly named before a real booking.
After the round, there is no departure to hurry towards. We stay another night, leaving time to enjoy the town, a good dinner and the conversations that follow a day like this.
For guests not playing today
There is time to enjoy St Andrews at your own pace, relax at the hotel or choose a spa treatment if available. Following the round may also be an option, subject to the confirmed course’s rules. We’ll agree activities, any transport and costs before booking, then meet again to share the day over dinner.
Ride
Local transfers • No touring ride scheduled

DAY 10 — SOUTH THROUGH THE BORDERS
THE JOURNEY HOME IS STILL A JOURNEY
We leave St Andrews and turn south through the Scottish Borders towards Cumbria. The return follows a different line from our outward journey, giving us another day of landscapes and roads to remember.
This is the fuller of our final two travel days. The detailed route will balance scenic sections with efficient connecting roads, allowing time for lunch and a sensible arrival at our hotel around Penrith.
We finish close to tomorrow's proposed course. The clubs are ready for one final round, the bikes are parked and there is another good dinner ahead. Manchester can wait until tomorrow.

DAY 11 — ONE LAST ROUND
PENRITH GOLF CLUB, THEN THE ROAD TO MANCHESTER
Our proposed closing round is at Penrith Golf Club. We plan an early tee time and a nearby overnight so that 18 holes can sit comfortably alongside the final journey to Manchester.
This is a chance to enjoy the company, see how the swing has settled since that first session with the professional and finish the golf somewhere different from the headline courses.
Afterwards, we ride south. The final route will protect our arrival time rather than force a long scenic detour after a full round. Back in the Manchester area, we come together for the farewell dinner: excellent food and one last evening to celebrate the journey.
For guests not playing today
We’re planning a relaxed morning at the hotel or time locally while the golfers play. Accompanying the round may be possible with the club’s permission. Any separate activities and transport will be agreed in advance around our shared departure for Manchester, where everyone joins the farewell dinner.

DAY 12 — UNTIL THE NEXT ROAD
MANCHESTER DEPARTURES
Breakfast, goodbyes and airport transfers. Hire-bike return arrangements will be built around our final hotel and departure plans, while guests on their own motorcycles set off for home.
The loop is complete. Days on the Harleys, golf and time to explore, tables we were happy to linger at and a group of people who now have a journey in common.
The last morning is kept simple. We want the final memory to be of the holiday, not a hurried ride to catch a flight.

Countries on the published route: United Kingdom: England and Scotland.
This itinerary is still being developed. We will confirm the final route, including any additional transit countries, before you book.
Guests of all nationalities are welcome. Each guest, whether riding or travelling as a pillion, must hold a valid passport or other travel document accepted for the whole journey, together with any visas or travel authorisations required for their nationality and circumstances.
The published Fairways route stays within the UK. Guests arriving from overseas should check whether they need a UK visa or Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA), or qualify for an exemption. Also check the requirements of any countries visited on your independent journey to or from the tour.
Please check the official requirements before booking and again before departure. We can provide itinerary and accommodation confirmations to support an application once arrangements are confirmed. Obtaining the required documents and meeting entry conditions remain each guest’s responsibility. Our joining instructions will include a route-specific reminder.
Bring your questions about the riding, accommodation, travelling as a pillion or hiring a motorcycle. Julian will help you decide whether the journey is right for you.
Contact Julian to discuss riders, pillions, room arrangements and the motorcycle you would like to ride. Final arrangements will be confirmed before a real booking.
Configure your tour in the customer portal, or email or call Julian to discuss your plans. Saving a selection does not reserve a place or require a deposit.
Tour confirmation
A minimum of five paying riders, excluding pillions, is required. We plan for 8–10 customer bikes, with a maximum of 10 paying customer bikes. Our lead and sweep bikes are additional and do not count towards that maximum. Final tour arrangements and booking terms must be confirmed before a booking is accepted.
Planned package inclusions
All tours include the advertised hotel accommodation; breakfasts, lunches and evening meals; wine tastings, wine with evening meals and hotel welcome drinks; the guided ride with lead and sweep support; the support and luggage vehicle; admissions advertised as included visits; the scheduled ferry or tunnel crossings required by that itinerary; one scheduled arrival arrangement: either pickup on the tour departure day from a named local international airport to the published tour start point, or, for an international guest whose flight schedule requires arrival the previous day, one airport hotel night immediately before departure with airport-to-hotel and next-day scheduled transfers to the start point; and one scheduled departure arrangement: either a transfer from the published motorcycle drop-off point to a named local international airport on the tour end day, or, when the tour return timing requires an international guest to fly the next day, one airport hotel night after the tour with transfers from the motorcycle drop-off point to that hotel and onwards to the airport the next day. The included airport transfers operate within their published meeting and departure windows, including the hotel arrangements when needed.
Exact airports, meeting points, transfer windows, crossing details and each departure’s practical arrangements must be confirmed before a real booking. Read the booking information.
